Finally, here it is.  This is my most recently finished painting.  It’s an oil on canvas, 48 x 36 inches.  With most of my paintings I will make small to moderate changes to the composition based on the reference I have for the painting.  This time around I made more significant changes.  I am starting to make more of a serious move to work more from my observational and imaginative drawings.  I don’t think I’ll totally move away from using photo reference, but I really love the challenge of using several different types of reference material to harmonize within one painting.  The next 5 or 6 paintings I have planned are going to head more in this direction.
